Just drooling over some Xbox 360 specs and such  here when I noticed this strange footnote :   *Free Silver membership requires a broadband Internet connection and an Xbox 360 storage device (hard drive or memory unit). Korean players under the age of 14 and players who have previously been banned from Xbox Live are ineligible.   Odd that it is just Koreans under age 14 who are banned. What bizarre incident did I miss here? Chiprj probably knows... If you k...

Hey folks, got back from Vegas last night and caught up on some sleep. We did a lot of stuff so I will be posting the trip report over the course of a few days... If there are any aspects in particular you want to know about just comment and I will do my best to elaborate.      To start with we had a great player's suite at the New York New York Hotel  from Hotels.com  that was everything I hoped for with one small exception... the shower. No...

As the title so craftily implies EL and I are headed to Las Vegas for a very belated honeymoon. We will endeavor to eat, drink, and be merry in as many places as possible out there and I will report back to you so that you may live vicariously through us. Ah glamour blogging....

A. It's not cool right after you have been punished. (Hey there was a *reason* you lost a ton of points) B. RTFM so that you know how retarded you look when you post an article begging for points and then disable commentary. C. How's about earning 'em?

A follow-up to Amitty's article ...   A few days ago I posted this bit regarding the start of an email exchange between anti-violent video game zealot Jack Thompson and the creators of Penny Arcade. Well Jack has escalated this by sending a very misleading letter to the Seatle PD trying to have the PA guys arrested (for god knows what). I have taken the liberty of reproducing the letter PA posted since they are having server issues right now.     This ...

(No not in a job/money sort of way)   I just made my first successful loaf of homemade from scratch bread. Came out so well that I took a picture of it (much to my wife's amusement).   And yes I *am* Susi-goddamned-homemaker thank you very much!   The loaf attempted previous to this one had a few issues and was not very photgenic. Tasted alright though (if you like a sort of whole wheat maple cake with a wierd corn bread consistency that is).   ...

This is an email I wrote to anti-violent video game "crusader" Jack Thompson ( jackpeace@comcast.net ) after reading about an exchange between Jack and Penny Arcade's Mike Krahulik (Gabe): Mr. Thompson,      I find it humorous that gamers have overwhelmed your offering of $10,000 to produce a video game annually with www.childsplaycharity.org . Frankly I think your 10K offer is quite paltry and also fairly disingenous. Truly you are a strange, small, and helpless ...

Look sheeple, just because someone sent you the latest Snope's-bait email delineating the dangers of Dihydrogen Monoxide (it can corrode metal and even erode the surface of our beloved Gaia!) and you are frightened that excessive consumption of Dihydrogen Monoxide could lead to frequent urination, sweating, and even death in the case of submersion doesn't mean you have to pass it on with the breathless excitement of a 12 year old girl on AOL with her fi...

I was playing around a bit more with GE and the criminal aspects of my brain started barking very loudly for attention. Frankly GE works far too well in some cases. Lets take the following as an example :   This represents a dual use commercial airport/military airfield which sees *massive* use and also for the discerning viewer with the right knowledge also contains a lovely view of a fairly sensitive location. This is not how easy I want photo recon to be for an Islamist with a Jiha...

Just downloaded GoogleEarth Pro's trial version here and man what a toy! I have been zooming about the globe for an hour or so and I can't get enough! A sample from Pyongyang (pronounced Pyuhng-yahhng not P-yongYang with a Texas twang) North Korea :     I am betting they don't have a lot of hot-buttered squid at the home games.   In closing I would like to say "Fuck FalconView !".

I am preparing to reformat my computer in order to take another whack at "solving" this problem so I decided that this would be a great time to archive all of my downloaded music videos and mp3z onto CD's. I had no idea I was such a whore for music videos. I am currently on disk 13 right now and am just starting on the mp3z. Anyone else a music video freak? If you like yours legal I would suggest going here .

This is mainly in response to this article here . Your freedom of expression is not exclusive. Freedom does in fact extend to businesses as well folks. Your employer can refuse to spend it money on anything it likes. That is *it's* freedom of expression you see. You can be legitimately fired for saying things on your blog that you would be fired for saying on a street corner. If you work at IBM and you stand out on the street telling people how much IBM sucks and that your boss b...
