For those who care to know I am employed again as of Monday! It is just a short term thing but it pays fairly well and could turn into something more permanent... I am pretty stoked just to be useful again!

Frankly I don't even have anything witty to say about this sort of shit : Last Updated: Wednesday, 17 August 2005, 07:11 GMT 08:11 UK Bombs explode across Bangladesh A series of simultaneous bomb blasts have taken place across Bangladesh, reports say. "There are bomb blasts all over the country. We have reports of some injuries but no fatalities yet," senior police official Abdul Kaiyum told AFP. The explosions went off in the capital Dhaka as well as several other cities...

Here is some great news if you are an Iraqi (or possibly a Canadian Muslim) woman. Now that your men ar free to make their own constituion you will have less rights under them than you did under Saddam. Shit I wish that Iraq was a puppet government of the US when I hear shit like this : The first is the draft constitution of Iraq, now due next week. Iraqi women like Naghem Khadim, demonstrating on the streets of Najaf, are fighting to prevent an article from being put in the constitution tha...

I know some of you hate the link and discuss posts on  here but tough... David Wong of www.pointlesswasteoftime.com has put up another incredibly insightful and entertaining article dealing with how online gaming is reshaping portions of society and why it is doing so. Go read it.     A quote from the article :   Even now, much of the satisfaction for WoW gamers is in the very real sense of accomplishment they get, a person glowing with a burst of golden l...

Anyone else use Gmail notifier and find that it interfers with their keyboard? Whenever I have it on it seems to be sending keyboard interrupts causing the keyboard to miss keystrokes. Very irritating. (Of course I just turned it off)

During a recent discussion of the Demoocratic Underground's treatment of whether using animals for any purpose was morally equivalent to the enslavement of humans a poster took exception thusly :      I love how you guys take a few idiots opinions over at DU, and try to portray every dem like that. That's like me posting some of the ultra-rightie fascist drivel and saying every one of you feels the same way. Pretty lame.   &n...

The Grey Lady has run exactly one article on AAR recent funding gaffe. One... how does that stack up with it's previous coverage?   Let's go to the headlines....   Politics, Yes, but No Fistfights For Jerry Springer on Radio TELEVISION/RADIO; And Don't Even Get Her Started on the War Left Is Gaining In San Diego, A Rightist Bastion Radio Network Ordered Back On in Chicago PUBLIC LIVES; A Radio Voice Challenging Right-Wing Talkers ...

In a stunningly moronic display of moral equivalency the Democratic Underground Lefties can't even agree that human slavery is worse than eating animals ! I wish I was making this up but here is a little quotey quote for you:   Just so, humans who define themselves by religion or culture or nationality or skin color think that their suffering can never be compared, no matter how factually, with any other human or animal's suffering. To do so makes them feel...

There is an ongoing thread over here where I picked up this little gem :   Froyboy - WC suppose to be a FAMILY site. You lied to us. Way back, KarmaGirl said this a family oriented site. Not anymore.  Exiled me if you wish. WC has gone down. No wonder people are leaving. My kids hear me swear all the time. This is a COMMUNITY skin site. Doesn't look like it anymore.        "Froyboy"  is actually Frogboy the owner of this site...

"LLHM KTU BA BAK KUV...." Translation : "Even in dreams : Unification"       Although this article mainly deals with Japanese PM Junichiro Koizumi backpedaling and apologizing for Japan's WWII foibles on the 60th aniversary of it's surrender the part I was most interested in was this bit : North and South Korea used the anniversary as an opportunity to reconcile political differences that have kept the peninsula divided since the end of W...

I hate eminent domain as much as the next man but I accpet the fact that without it nations would have a pretty hard time developing domestically or using it's land as part of diplomatic deals like the Gaza pullout.      I appreciate that no one likes to be kicked out of the place that they have lived (some for almost 4 decades) in a peace deal with folks that they would consider trrorists.      I understand that the Is...

Update : There appear to be some folks reading this who think that this article is critical of Air America Radio... it is NOT! AAR may not be the most smoothly run business in the world but that is not the heart of the issue. The issue here is the complete lack of any reporting on this from the MSM. Had this been EIB and the Boy Scouts as suggeted in the commentary discussion the MSM would have been on it like stink on shit regardless of when the funding was done or i...

*the 7th edit is the charm apparently           Well folks my 13 year detour from normal life has come full circle and dropped me off back on the main road just a few miles from where I started. I am jobless, newly married, and have no college degree.           I don’t want to give the impression that the Army was a bad thing for me by any means. The Army gave me the ...
