I have come to the conclusion that most senior Army personnel don’t care to much about improving the barracks living conditions because they know that no matter how great they are the soldiers won’t appreciate them because they have no frame of reference. I have been in the Army for a while, not long enough for a career but long enough. When I joined the Army I was immediately given a solid frame of reference for the rest of my time as an...

John took them to task for being one of the most polarizing influences on TV and he was right.          Now I suppose that as a member of the Vast Right Wing C...

I love Minnesota          I love Minnesota. Let me make that clear. I long for the smell of cold. I crave that silence after a blizzard when the world stops and takes note of the snow-hare. I adore the tracks a hound makes when it trails that same hare. I melt inside to remember the trusting gaze of a doe who knows I hold neither malice nor firearm.          Those who were not raised in the Nor...

So this is an Islamic Moderate?   At a convention on the subject of "Pluralism in Islam" which took place in late August, 2004 at the Egyptian Journalists' Union in Cairo, Sheikh Dr. Yousef Al-Qaradhawi, a leader of the Muslim Brotherhood movement and one of the most important religious authorities in Islamist circles, issued a religious legal opinion permitting the abduction and killing of American civilians in Iraq in order to pressure the American army to evacuate its forces...

This morning I listened to NPR's coverage of the "hearings" over the mistaken medal placement of Paul Hamm. Paul himself had some sound bites and stated that he would "fight to keep his medal". Hey Paul how about struggling to earn   the fucking medal next time? I can't believe it takes hearings to sort this out! They should have just had a Romanian powerlifter go over and take the damn thing from him and stick the silver medal he did earn  up his tear ...

Link and discuss (for Pseudo) or just read and don't discuss. Whichever you like. Today was too long for me to go in-depth on anything.   Here is a TIME article restating many of the slaient points I have made in a recent series of articles. They softball a lot of it but hey... You have to be a subscriber to get the whole text.

A couple of days ago Pseudosoldier posted a thought provoking article here. Go read it, I’ll wait….   Hmmmm….Hmmmm…. Hmmmm….   Back? Ok great… the main thrust of it was to point up a possible upsurge of conscience in the Muslim community. Perhaps even the Muslim community condemning the Russian school atrocity. I submit that they have not even come close… Here is what a bit of research got me with the searchterms: Muslims protest Russian school.   ...

This morning on the way home from PT I heard something that highlighted the sort of leftist nonsense that crosses the border from harmless asshattery into the realm of endangering the public.             Former CIA/State Department Counter-terrorism wonk Larry C. Johnson held forth on NPR saying that the release of the recent specific terror threa...

We are the guys who drove you to cower alone in isolated firing positions in that cold desert. We are the ones who scared you so badly that you resorted to whispering during your conversations.    ...

Sure their culture is as advanced as ours! From the Telegraph.   “Nine Afghan gunmen who hijacked an airliner four years ago and forced it to fly to London have been told they can stay in Britain with their wives and children.”               My question is this : Had this situation been reversed and it had been Britons hijacking an Afgha...

While I often like to pretend that I am physically incapable of strong emotion, it is simply not true. These songs will reduce me to tears while I am stone-cold sober (even more so after a drink or two) :   Toby Keith :                           American Soldier          &nb...
