Sure their culture is as advanced as ours! From the Telegraph.

“Nine Afghan gunmen who hijacked an airliner four years ago and forced it to fly to London have been told they can stay in Britain with their wives and children.”

            My question is this : Had this situation been reversed and it had been Britons hijacking an Afghani airliner (I will wait so you can all stop chuckling over the incredible improbability of that situation…. Ok ready?) what would the Afghani reaction have been? Do I hear a faint call for torture followed by public beheading? Perhaps a bit of rape for the wives and kids? No, actually it would be a resounding ROAR for these things. Al-Jazeera would carry the entire proceeding in living color too.

            I am not a religious man, but if I were I would thank whatever deity I believed in for the incredible fortune to be born into a country with Western cultural morality instead of one the less compassionate corners of the world.
