Although my readers may not agree, I personally find that I am much more eloquent as a writer than as a speaker. This becomes painfully obvious when I speak to someone on the phone. Once I am deprived of the time to think out my statements beforehand I become a taciturn twit (the vocab is in homage to Dan K.). When you couple this with the removal of body language and other non-verbal cues I would normally receive in a face to face conversation I become positively autist...

Actually I was not hip-deep in Soju -caps at the time although I wished that I was. We just had a rule that any story that took place in Korea had to start that way… (credit EvilPidge )          In reality I was driving down the back road from the An-jung-ni/Pyongtaek (the red dot) are north to Osan Air Force Base. Our trusty blue station wagon was taking the curves and dodging ...

I do have a long-winded rant on an Intelligence related topic ready to go and I will post it later...   You can't take the sky from me...

Unless you have been hiding under a rock (without cable) then you have heard about the shooting up in Red Lake Minnesota. Turns out that the teacher who was killed by this "Native Nazi" is a native of my home town . In point of fact her nephew David was in grade school with me. You don't really expect to find stuff like this when the population of your town is less than 500 (with generous municipal limits too). Very odd.

Do not allow your kid unsuperised access to the Net. Ever. If your kid can masturbate to porn with you watching him then your childs issues would be better dealt with by institutionalization. OR 2. Do not allow them acces to the Net at all. Ever.   There ya go folks. ...

There is a great article discussing Alan Reynold's new book, "Income and Wealth" over at TCS daily that prompted me to remember this. As a long time employee of Domino's pizza I already knew that America's "poor" are actually quite rich. Let me briefly explain.      Each week as a Domino's driver I would routinely delivery the most pizza to trailer park homes, rent-controlled welfare housing, and low-income apartments. Thats right, not to the ho...

Singer Dave was promoted to Sergeant today. Congrats friend. Aside from "Daddy"... "Sergeant" is the appelation I am proudest to wear. A Time honored traditon accompanies the title despite it's recent spoilage. Be proud, do what you can, don't sweat the tiny shit, and remember that you work for the soldiers while the soldiers work for the country... (congrats as well to newly promoted SPC Eye Candy...)      Singer's young daughter was present...
