Today I have the luxury of staying home and doing a bit of homework for the team's presentation for GEN 300 (read : You are old and need help to come back to school class) and I will also be playing in a No Limit Hold'em tournament online as I work. Wish me luck (or ill if you are from the Muggaz camp).

Oh and in case you forgot :

"We've been treated to some astonishingly vile images over the last two weeks: Office workers hurling themselves into a 100-floor-high abyss. A gaping, smoldering hole in the financial center of our greatest city. George W. Bush passing himself off as a patriot, even as he disassembles the Constitution with the voracious glee of piranha skeletonizing a cow. ... It may have seemed meaningless at the time, but now we know why 7,000 people sacrificed their lives: So that we'd all forget how Bush stole a presidential election." -- Cartoonist/Leftist "Patriot" Ted Rall, Philadelphia City Paper, September 27

Oh if you should have some burning desire to play Texas Hold'em with me... I play at PartyPoker.com and my handle there should be relatively easy to deduce:)

Ted Rall is a racist bigot.  Nothing more, and a whole lot less. And good luck!

Update : About halfway through the tourney... 300 out of 700 have been eliminated and I am in the 85 percentile for chip stack size... things are looking mediocre for me

If I was home I would sit and watch... good luck and take them to the bank.

Remember: always save your big flop till the end!

Yep, I only have to take out one player... the last one.

The WSOP needs to air more events per year... EL and I can't get enough!

Less than 300 players left in...

Just tripled up!

End result: 51st place out of just over 700 folks. Doubled my money and then some. Went all-in on AQ unsuited and got beat by pocket rockets... had a lot of fun though:)

Nice job... at least you didn't embarrass yourself, which is how any tourney I joined would end up.
Where you going to school and what are you studying, anyway? What class is GEN300 anyway?

Where you going to school and what are you studying, anyway? What class is GEN300 anyway?

University of Phoenix (the brick and mortar version), I am in the 3rd year of the CS program, and GEN 300 is a class they make all adults who have been out of school for a while take to refamiliarize themselves with school.

I guess since I've successfully managed to spread a BA out over 11 years without taking more than 2 years off at a time, I would be able to avoid that, maybe.

Congrats and good luck with school. I'm hoping to finish my last class online while SPC Nbs is away. Let him come home to a wife that finally has a degree to go with all of those student loan bills.

Well, congratulations! When did this happen? I mean about going back to school? I couldn't be happier. Study hard and no going to the mall with Charlie to play in the game rooms.

Congratulations on the continuing education. Have you bothered to get the Associate from DLI?

Once I get settled in here, I'll be looking into Excelsior again... last I checked, I was 16 credits away from a BA. Yours sounds more marketable, though.

Do they have a campus there in Sorry Vista, or do you have to go to Tucson for class (since you are doing the brick-and-mortar version)?
