Now here is an organization I can get excited about. Adopt-a-sniper "aims" to support our US snipers in combat in Afghanistan and Iraq. Recently featured on Fox News, brought to my attention by Little Green Footballs in this article and disapproved of by Marquette University.

An excerpt :

CHICAGO (Reuters) - A U.S. university in Wisconsin has blocked an attempt by Republican students to raise money for a group called “Adopt a Sniper” that raises money for U.S. sharp-shooters in Iraq and Afghanistan. The students were selling bracelets bearing the motto “1 Shot 1 Kill No Remorse I Decide.”

Disgusting, isn't it? The officials at Marquette University claim that Adopt A Sniper goes against the teachings of the Catholic Church, so it wouldn't be right for the organization to be allowed to raise funds and do other work on campus.

Of course, Gay Rights and Pro abortion groups are in direct conflict with the teachings of the Catholic Church, but that doesn't seem to mean much to the officials. Marquette also allowed one of the most prolific voter fraud organizations to ply their crimes on campus, even after The New Voter Project was exposed for what they were.

Mark Belling (one of the local talk show hosts in the Milwaukee radio market) has done a great job of exposing the hypocrissy of Marquette's policies. Now, everytime the name "Marquette" is mentioned during his show (even my those doing traffic reports), they change "Marquette" to "We don't support the troops" (i.e. "The We don't support the troops interchange,", "We Don't Support the Troops University.. etc) ;~D

Typical liberal university. A good friend of mine was an ad hoc professor at Marquette for one semester. He was let go because the students complained too much to the dean about him. Apparently they didn't appreciate his belief that only those who do exceptional academic work should get exceptional academic grades. The students (or at least a fair number of them) wanted everybody in the class to be able to get an A. The professor explained that after 20+ years of being a professor, he was certain that some of them would not perform to the same high standards as others, and therefore would not get exceptional grades. The students complained to the dean, the dean discussed it with the professor, and when the professor stood by his guns, he was let go. So much for meritocracy in America....
