I Love the North West

Some folks I am quite happy to leave as civilians where their idiocy will only cost themselves cash and credibility....

Jackholes

Lets reverse the situation shall we? A crowd of uniformed cadets screaming at a couple of peace protestors and running them off campus under security escort. The ACLU would be on that like stink on shit you bet your ass. The Grey Lady, CNN, CBS, and other MSMs would have their pantied in a wad so tight it would make their voices raise two octaves. This sort of dissent crushing though? Not a fucking peep!

Question a whole food/feng shui/raelian peace activist wearing a "Che" shirt and swinging a communist flag screaming "We won't stop until The Hammer and Sickle fly over the White House!" and you are subjected to screeds of "This is Brownshirting (I keep typing that as "brownshitting")! The Patriot act is to blame!" But as long as the Left does it it is ok? Whiskey Tango Foxtrot over?

Come on JU Libs (the two of you who read my stuff anyways)! Defend this. Tell me how it "Supports the troops but not the war." Tell me how it isn't brownshirting. Tell me why the ACLU isn't ballstomping these guys right now the way they would if the situation was reversed. I am dying to hear the rationale.

Anyone feel like the shouting hysterical mob member would make a better employee than the calm and collected SSG? If you do, please email me at sgt.greywar@gmail.com. I have some business deals for you!

The GIs in Iraq.  So when you and the other sane liberals shout that you support the troops, but not the war, all the troops see are these loony loopy luddites, and think you are hypocrits.  It is not fair, but itis life.

if the GIs are so stupid that they think a group of Seattle college kids represent an entire spectrum of political thought I couldn't care less if they group me with some protesters. It's their loss if they can't differentiate, not mine.

And that attitude is why no one believes you when you say you support the troops, and not the war.  So in the end, it is your loss.

The old, "you know what you are getting into" excuse. Well done! So anytime, anyone goes into a liberal Mecca, they should expect violence, beatings, scorn, and riots? Now that is a great slogan for the left!

I think that excuse is pathetic. The left uses it to justify the outragous behaviour on their part....and shifts the blame for the situation on the victim, intead of where it belongs...on those who act in an inappropriate manner. You won't see them defending everyone's right to have freedom of speech, only those who spout the liberal propaganda.

I don't see why I should have to be black and white in my beliefs. Just because someone's in uniform doesn't mean they can't be a total knob-jockey. It is through understanding that everyone and every group is capable of harbouring the distasteful that we understand ourselves.

This isn't fair at all. The recruiter wasn't beaten, there was no riot. The crowd did destroy his promotional materials and hurl verbal abuse, but I can't see how this is unusual in any way. That's what students do. If you see the Socialist Alliance stands at university markets you'll notice they get trashed on a regular basis as well. There is legislation against it, but you'll find people don't tend to want to use it very often to defend themselves. That only sets them up for the ultimate in disrespect - being ignored.

Hatred is a form of belief after all, and harnessed well it gives power to the hated and succour to his cause.

Was this some sort of Rorschach test?

Apparently for you it was... Perhaps you failed?

Sorry, that is NOT what most of them do. I have lived, studied and worked on College campuses.  I never saw thugs like that.

You're a unlucky man Dr Guy. I don't know how you missed it. People are always bating the socialists and the army recruiters at my uni. The Student Union deliberately makes them set up stands right next to each other so everyone can catch the show. It's the best thing to watch during any spare hours you've got on a Wednesday, as the two sides, who both completely loathe each other, go for it right on the grass of Union Court.

It's rare that it's only promotional material that gets ripped up most days.

Maybe because most students are not afraid to have civilized debate in the arena of ideas.  Just the Nut jobs that cant debate have to resort to violence and intimidation
