Cuz I am lazy

I am trying to train up my Dragon Naturally Speaking voice-to-text program. This will allow me, (your lazy blogger), to keep up with the likes of chiprj who gets to blog from work. The assclown.

Now here is what Dragon thought I said as I read the above text to it :

I'm trying to train up my Dragon Naturally Speaking voice to text program. This will allow me (your lazy longer) to keep up with the likes of Chip R. J. Gates of long from work. The assclown.

Not too bad after only about 30 minutes spent training it to recognize my voice, but I have hopes for better in the future. (yes I taought it "assclown" first thing) Most of the puntuation and capitalization were done manually. More later perhaps.

That is so cool, grey. It did that good after 30 min? Awesome. Let us know if you think it is worth the time, money, and trouble in the end.

I am just using a trial version at the moment. The program is pricey at around $200 retail. email me and I know a good place to get it at a discount though. sgt.greywar@gmail.com

They come with a degree of baseline vocab. After reading some preselected passages to it it was able to adapt quite a bit to my voice and speaking cadence. Additionally my vocabulary has to be added in. Most dictionaries do not come with the word "fuckchop" in the standard lexicon.

Or smacktard. Or moonbat. Or even blog, it would seem...

Sounds like a cool program, though. Anything is cool if it gets you to post more.

And spelling?

So, with this technology being able to do a good deal of your vocabulary with *no* actual train-up... how does that affect automatic collection on Weisbaden?

Oh dear, what next? Teaching an innocent program such language!

not much apparently, even *with* training you see the job it did on three sentences. Good enough for a giggle, but nothing close to intel.

When you type 120wpm, such products are more of a hinderance (tongue sticking out)..

And you haven't written one such all inclusive version yet? Perhaps just a supplement. It should be easier for you anyways now, right?

sheee.....(shakes head in jealous disgust) I never got above 95, and that was when I practiced piano four hours plus a day. More like 50 to 60 now.

I usually settle for whatever rate I can get by repeatedly slamming my head into the keyboard and then using my left big toe to backspace and delete all the wrong characters. Like sculpture but with more blood and less art.

I have actually used the built in voice recognition in WIndows and Office products before. It worked surprisingly well, and back when I was used to dictating it was pretty fast. Didn't seem to work well enough though, and I got really tired of the Language toolbar always starting every time I turned my computer on. Haven't used it in a while, but Windows does have it with Office and such, so if you already have that, you should be good to go. Might not even need Office for all I know.

I knew there was a formula to your success.
