Maybe later

I really want to write something. Really, I'm serious. Maybe a screedy political rant thoroughly laced with unusual combinations of profanity, perhaps an article delineating the things I adore about a game no one but me and Pseudosoldier have ever played, or perhaps a long winded diatribe regarding the continuing decline of Army culture (you know, the ones that draw less commentary than the ADOM articles) but I just can't.

The non-stop, wall-to-wall, new-bimbo-photos-every-hour "news coverage" of A.N.S. "untimely" "tragic" death has locked my brain's logic gates tightly shut. I daren't open them until the flood of sewage has passed. Until then, go read Lileks.

HAHA! Welcome back to my world. I'm probably testing the waters to be taken off your side bar!

I've actually been playing around with the idea of putting together a book. I'll be heading to Korea in a couple of weeks for a month to attend a school while herding nine cats, I mean students, and with the very restrictive rules (no alcohal, being one of them) I have to live by and enforce, I'll have plenty of time to bang out some writing on a laptop.

Well, good luck finding your muse again.

I saw an article in a recent Army Times about how basic is getting too soft and soldiers are going to AIT unprepared and with an increasing sense of entitlement? Thought you might have an interesting take on that, and better able to write about it than myself.

Why bother going then?

Well the phrasing was that we could drink if we were in a situation where not drinking would be considered rude... and we are cautioned to sip. The main point is not to send a bunch of TRADOC governed trainees to Korea to get ripped on kettles.

As for me, I'm failry certain I will find myself in scenarios where it would be rude to not drink and sipping is just another word for "not doing tequila bongs", right?

Then they have in fact missed the point.

Yeah, this happened to me, too (although it has nothing to do with ANS).

I'm trying like hell to cook something up, but...
